Straight on through to Bonnaroo
A couple of days ago I got back from part one of this summer's wild adventure. Two weeks in the States to check out a music festival called Bonnaroo in Tennessee. It was an amazing time. The 4 day road trip down was a great time with the four friends I was traveling with, we were all so stoked for the amazing concerts we would be taking in. Day 1 saw Dave Matthews take the stage. Day 2 I took in Kings of Leon, Xavier Rudd, and OAR. Day 3 I saw John Butler Trio and Modest Mouse. They we're all really great shows but I'd say OAR, Modest Mouse and Kings of Leon were my favorite bands. After driving 4 days into the states and spending 3 days at Bonnaroo we were all ready for a) a shower (after not showering for 6 days) and b) a quick ride home. We didn't travel far on the first day but spent the night in a Comfort Inn (an understatement of a name after camping for over a week). I think I had to shampoo three times and needed to soap twice. It was the best shower I've ever had--well almost the best shower I've ever had.Anyways after a well rested night at the Comfort Inn we were ready for the road. 3000 kilometers to home. About 35 hours of continuous driving later, a seemingly endless amount of gas stations, and enough crappy overpriced grub food for a lifetime we were home. I caught a shower and threw on a Modest Mouse shirt and headed to the movies to see Batman Begins but more importantly to see Lauren. A couple of weeks felt like a lifetime apart from her.
Tomorrow evening at 6pm Lauren and I hope on a plane for London. We arrive in London at around 11am and shuttle to another airport where to take in some dinner, hangout in the airport overnight and check into an early flight for Budapest that will see us arrive around 10. From there we head to such exotic locales as the islands of Greece, and the cities of Athens, Rome and Paris. I'm not going to lie to you I'm more excited and happy than I think I've ever been in my life. I have never felt more certain that I am where I'm supposed to be in my life. I feel like I've stopped asking questions and started actually living.
More to come. Definitely more to come.
